About the workshop:
In order to improve health literacy, thousands of different kinds of media forms are developed in health-related organization. For this purpose, some organizations develop websites, weblogs, posters, brochures, pamphlets, leaflets, tracts, booklets and books, newsletters/newspapers, magazines while others prefer to produce video clips, movies, and TV and radio programs. However, most of these media are not standard; this problem limits their effectiveness.

Developing and producing standard media needs special knowledge and skills. This workshop will improve your literacy regarding “developing and producing effective standard media” in order to improve health literacy.

Learning objectives: 

After completing this workshop, you will improve your literacy about:

  • Process of health education and health promotion
  • Theoretical principles of behavior modification in health
  • Practical principles of developing effective media/material for changing health-related behavior:
    1. Brochure, pamphlet, leaflet, tract, booklets Etc.
    2. Posters and other graphical health education materials
    3. Websites, mobile apps, movies, TV and radio programs
    4. Practical tips for evaluating aforementioned media

Participants: All health professionals who are intending to develop media/material for giving information, changing attitudes, beliefs and behaviors of their target groups will find the workshop useful. This workshop will be especially helpful for clinical resource nurses, clinical nurses, community nurses, mental health professionals, pharmacists, medical students and residents, family doctors, medical specialists, social workers, physiotherapists etc.

Duration: One Day (6 hours)
