The IIHR supports Canadian young researchers and authors (18 years and younger) through various scholarships and awards. A list of current scholarships and awards can be seen below:

Young Researcher Scholarship:

Eligibility: The youth under 18 years old who have participated in WYRC research workshops and showed outstanding research skills can apply for this scholarship.

Important dates: The deadline for application is December 21st, March 21st, June 21st and September 21st. Winners will be announced 2-4 weeks after the deadline. There are 4 scholarships each $100.

What you need: Certificate of your WYRC research workshop certificate, CV, cover letter indicating why you think you are eligible, proof of Canadian citizenship and age. Send your documents to info@iihr.ca.


Young Author Award:

Eligibility: People under 18 years old who are publishing a book. This award is granted to one person every season (4 people every year). Each award is $150; those young authors that acknowledge the IIHR in their book will receive $200.

Important dates: The deadline for application is June 5th, September 5th, December 5th and March 5th. The winners will be announced 2-3 weeks after each deadline.

What you need: Copy of your book in PDF format showing the ISBN, proof of Canadian citizenship and age. Send your documents to info@iihr.ca.
